Islamic

The Islamic period brought many new inspirations to the table such as the famous Taj Mahal. These new buildings were called mosques and were for worshipping like many of the architecture in previous periods. Arches and Domes were one of the greatest aspects of these new temples. Also, the great detail inside these domes were phenomenal and are very interesting to me.

Other Students Blog

Looking at Hannah's blog I liked how she talked about topics about Islam that we didn't discuss in class. For example, she talked about the Dome of the Rock and it symbolized new religion. I also really liked her current applications and how she put her own rendering assignment into her blog.

In Melanie's blog I liked how she talked about the different archways. I think that that was something that was new in architecture. Also reading her blog I learned that muqarnas are tiny niches stacked in tiers that were carved into the temples or Islamic buildings.
